Day 9 - 26 October 2018

Koper

Coastal Slovenia’s oldest and largest town, Koper, dates back to the Middle Bronze Age. With its Venetian history and proximity to Italy, you'll notice that Koper has a bit of an Italian feel to it and, in fact, Italian is the second language here. There is a sharp distinction between the picturesque historic architecture of the Old Town and its newer surroundings.

Sites worth visiting include the gothic 15th century Carpaccio square with Taverna, Saint Justina’s column and fountain, fountain Da Ponte, Fontico with the heraldic decoration, Palace Almerigogna, and the Rotunda of the Assumption.

Day 10 - 27 October 2018

Split

The large ferry lined coastal town of Split, Croatia, is as busy as it’s beautiful. Take the short uphill walk to Old town to visit the magnificent Palace of Diocletian, an ancient palace built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian at the turn of the 4th century.

UNESCO-listed, it also has other grandiose sites to offer such as the Mausoleum, the Grgur Ninski Statue and the Cathedral and Bell Tower of St Domnius. Being a university town, it has quite a young population, but, fear not, there is plenty to do for travellers of all ages.

Venture across cypress-studded hills to find higgledy-piggledy villages in the fertile interior, and sandy coves lapped by cobalt-blue waters.

Day 12 - Katakolon (Olympia)

29 October 2018

The seaside Greek town of Katakolon is the second busiest port in Greece, most famous for Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The UNESCO World Heritage site is well worth the 40 minute drive from the coast. Here the ancient Greeks flocked every four years for more than a millennium to celebrate the sacred games dedicated to Zeus. Visit the ruins of the Sanctuary, with its athletic quadrangles, stadium, temples and treasures; then browse in the modern Archaeological Museum, which holds precious archaic classical and Roman sculptures, including the famous Nike Winged Victory.

Day 13 - 30 October 2018

Valletta

Upon entering Valletta Harbour, you are greeted with the formidable defensive stone battlements of forts pockmarked by war guarding the strategic waterway. Valetta was considered to be an example of an ideal city of the Renaissance, due to its fortifications as well as the urban life within the city.

Take some pictures in the bay scattered by Malta’s signature colourful Luzzo fishing boats. Then take to the winding streets amid the limestone bastions and hillside structures to view the unique landscape and ancient buildings that have appeared in famous Hollywood movies like Troy and Gladiator.

With its bright white and blue shuttered houses, azure skies and bronze bodies lining golden sandy beaches, Mykonos is a feast for the eyes. The town, also known as Chora or Hora, is a well-preserved port well worth visiting, especially the picturesque waterfront Little Venice quarter. In the early sixties, celebrities like Grace Kelly used to frequent this island and it’s been the most popular Greek island in the Aegean Sea since then. Explore the local shops, cafes and churches close to the harbour and sample some scrumptious fresh seafood at the quaint local restaurants.

Day 17 - 4 November 2018

Piraeus (Athens)

The biggest port in the Mediterranean and the hub of the Aegean ferry network, Piraeus offers easy access to Athens. The unofficial ancient capital of the world, Athens include many pillars of Western history, from the ancient Acropolis and Temple of Olympian Zeus to the treasures of the 19th century National Archaeological Museum. The 2004 Olympic Games sparked the transformation of Central Athens and brought enhancements to transportation and infrastructure that have improved Greece's capital. Now featuring spotless parks and streets, and ultra-modern improvements including English road signs, the city is very easy to navigate.

Day 18 - 5 November 2018

Rhodes

By far the largest and historically the most important of the Dodecanese islands, Rhodes (ro-dos) abounds in beaches that will spirit you back to the days of the Byzantine Empire and beyond. It’s worth taking in the magnificent view from the sea as you sail into the port. It curves round a giant lagoon in the Cyclades islands, offering stunning views from sky-high towns, eclectic cuisine, lovely galleries, thriving nightlife and excellent wines. The name is officially Thira although most people refers to it by its Latin name of Santorini. Day 20 - 7 November 2018

Chania

Chania (also spelled Hania) is Crete’s most evocative city, with its pretty Venetian quarter, criss-crossed by narrow lanes, culminating at a magnificent harbour. Remnants of Venetian and Turkish architecture abound, with old townhouses now transformed into atmospheric restaurants and boutique hotels.

Discover the beautiful harbour and enjoy a coffee or cocktail. Then visit the Indie boutiques and Skridlof lane, dedicated to leather products that provides the perfect place to get a pair of sandals or a souvenir. And with a multitude of creative restaurants, you'll likely have some of your best meals in Crete here.

Day 21 - 8 November 2018

Valletta

Day 22 - 9 November 2018

Messina (Sicily)

You will dock at Messina at the northernmost point of Sicily's Ionian Coast and be transferred to the gorgeous island of Sicily. The varied landscape makes for a dramatic first impression, with the smoking active mount Etna in the background and the sparkling Golfo di Castellammare offering a cultural treasure trove of discoveries and outdoor activities.

Sicily offers a wide variety of architectural gems, including Arab domes and arches, Norman castle walls and Byzantine mosaics. Foodies can delight in the vast offering of cuisine, from the timeless ancient recipes to the modern twists on this.
