A second day here is no hardship. The Namib, thought to be the world’s oldest desert, unfurls in copper and ochre dunes against a cold Atlantic swell, its silence and scale a world away from anywhere else on this voyage.

Few places on Earth feel as remote as St. Helena, a speck of volcanic rock rising sheer from the South Atlantic. Best known as Napoleon Bonaparte’s final home and resting place, its cobbled lanes and slow, unhurried pace reward the curious traveller.

Praia hums with Creole rhythm, morna music drifting from cafes as market stalls spill colour onto faded colonial streets. Cape Verde’s capital sits at a crossroads of Africa, Europe and the Americas, its Atlantic beaches never far from the bustle.

Today, you’ll disembark in Gran Canaria and fly to Madrid for a two-night stay. Spain’s stately capital pairs grand boulevards and golden-stone plazas with world-class art and late-night energy. Wander the Prado, linger over tapas, or stroll through Retiro Park before dark.

Your second day in Madrid is yours to explore at your own pace. Delve deeper into the city’s celebrated art scene, browse a historic market, or settle onto a sun-drenched terrace to watch the world go by. Seek out grand landmarks or lose yourself in the old quarter’s winding lanes.

Your holiday complete, today you’ll head to the airport for your flight home.
